McMahon Services is looking for an experienced Project Manager – Civil & Remediation to join our team in Fremantle, Western Australia.

This is a permanent opportunity to take ownership of a complex civil and remediation works package for a major WA property developer, with a diverse scope spanning bulk earthworks, contaminated material management, remediation, demolition and engineered fill.

We’re looking for a Project Manager with a strong bulk earthworks and deep excavation background, sound commercial capability and the confidence to build strong relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.

With a highly collaborative delivery model, this role is about more than managing programme and cost. You’ll be visible, involved and working closely with the customer and their consultants to solve problems, manage risk and keep delivery moving.

About the Role

As Project Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the safe, commercial and operational delivery of a complex works package in Fremantle.

The project scope includes:

• Hydrocarbon excavation and ex situ remediation.
• Asbestos soil remediation through mechanical screening.
• Groundwater treatment.
• Concrete crushing and blending to produce engineered fill.
• Demolition and removal of buried infrastructure, including ground slabs, underground tanks, rail infrastructure and redundant services.
• Backfilling and placement of treated and excavated material under Level 1 conditions.
• Validation sampling and waste tracking.
• Waste minimisation, accurate classification and safe management of contaminated materials.

You’ll work closely with the client and their consultants throughout delivery, making communication, collaboration and stakeholder management just as important as strong technical and commercial project management.

What You’ll Do

• Take ownership of the day-to-day delivery of the Fremantle works package.
• Lead project teams, subcontractors and suppliers to achieve safe and efficient delivery.
• Manage bulk earthworks and deep excavation activities.
• Drive programme, cost, quality and commercial performance.
• Manage contract administration, forecasting, cost reporting, variations and project risk.
• Develop, monitor and update project programmes using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Coordinate remediation, demolition, earthworks and material management activities.
• Work closely with environmental and technical specialists around contaminated material management.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, performance and commercial outcomes.
• Maintain strong oversight of project documentation and reporting.
• Build trusted relationships with the client, consultants and other key stakeholders.
• Identify project risks and opportunities and drive practical solutions.
• Maintain a strong focus on WHSEQ throughout project delivery.
• Support accurate waste tracking, classification and material management requirements.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven Project Management experience within civil construction, earthworks or infrastructure.
• Strong background in bulk earthworks and deep excavation.
• Demonstrated commercial capability across contract administration, cost management and forecasting.
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong programme management capability.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Strong client and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities within a complex project environment.
• Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant construction, engineering or project management qualifications.
• Current Driver’s Licence and Construction White Card.
• A positive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
