McMahon Services is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Building & Construction operations across the Northern Territory.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Business Unit Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across our Northern Territory Building & Construction portfolio.

You will be responsible for leading project delivery teams, optimising resources, driving commercial outcomes and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard. The role also plays a key part in mentoring future leaders, supporting business development initiatives and strengthening client relationships across the NT market.

This is a Darwin-based position and not a FIFO role. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and support Project Managers and project delivery teams across the Northern Territory
  • Drive operational performance, project delivery outcomes and resource utilisation
  • Oversee project budgets, financial performance and commercial reporting
  • Support procurement, contract administration and project planning activities
  • Build and maintain strong client, subcontractor and stakeholder relationships
  • Lead workforce planning, recruitment, succession planning and team development initiatives
  • Promote a culture of coaching, mentorship and continuous improvement across project teams
  • Monitor WHSEQ performance and drive a proactive safety culture across all operations
  • Identify future opportunities and contribute to business growth and strategic planning
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations, company standards and client expectations

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in construction project delivery and operational leadership
  • Strong background in commercial building and construction environments
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects, teams and resources simultaneously
  • Demonstrated success leading operational performance and driving business outcomes
  • Strong contract administration and commercial management capability
  • Excellent stakeholder management and client relationship skills
  • Strong understanding of WHSEQ requirements within the construction industry
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting and financial performance
  • Current Driver's Licence and White Card
