About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager - Demolition & Decommissioning, you’ll lead the end-to-end delivery of some of the most demanding demolition and decommissioning projects in the country. From the first plan to the final handover, you’ll own the outcome: shaping planning, guiding stakeholders, managing risk, driving WHSEQ performance, and keeping program, procurement and contract administration on track across industrial and multi-storey sites.
This is a role for a technically strong project manager who stays calm in highly regulated conditions, builds trusted client relationships, and never loses sight of the goal: every project delivered with zero harm, and every person going home safe.
What You’ll Do
- Develop comprehensive demolition and decommissioning plans covering scope, schedules, budgets and safety requirements
- Lead compliance with all safety, environmental and industry regulations, preparing method statements, risk assessments, waste plans and emergency/traffic/WHSEQ plans
- Identify risks, implement mitigation strategies and oversee project WHSEQ performance
- Manage workforce, plant, materials and subcontractors in line with program progression, collaborating with Site Supervisors and Site Engineers on programming and resourcing
- Manage contract obligations, variations, procurement and commercial performance
- Build strong, customer-focused relationships with clients and stakeholders, providing regular reporting on project performance, risks and issues
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
- Demonstrated project management experience, ideally in decommissioning, demolition, environmental remediation or complex civil projects, including multi-storey demolition and industrial work
- Strong understanding of WHSEQ requirements, risk mitigation and safety protocols
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage pressure and adapt to changing project demands
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contract documents, with competency in Microsoft Office and project management software
