McMahon Services is looking for an experienced Site Manager – Civil & Concrete to join our Engineering & Projects team.

We’re looking for a practical construction leader who knows how to run a site, lead people and keep works moving.

With a strong focus on civil and concrete construction, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day site delivery, coordinating crews, subcontractors, plant, materials and work fronts to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to the work while still maintaining strong oversight of programme, resources, costs, quality and client requirements.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for the autonomous management and delivery of allocated projects on site, leading daily construction activities while maintaining a strong site presence and safety culture.

You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, subcontractors and clients to coordinate the delivery of civil and concrete works and resolve issues before they impact the project.

You’ll also drive short-term programmes, coordinate plant, labour and materials and monitor progress against the overall project programme.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of civil and concrete construction works.
  • Manage site activities, work fronts, crews and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate labour, plant, equipment and materials.
  • Drive short-term programmes and daily construction priorities.
  • Monitor progress against project programmes and milestones.
  • Coordinate concrete works including preparation, reinforcement, formwork interfaces, pours and associated civil activities.
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
  • Review project drawings, designs and site documentation.
  • Maintain accurate site diaries and communicate progress to the project team.
  • Monitor site costs and support efficient use of labour, plant and materials.
  • Identify potential delays, variations and EOTs and communicate these early.
  • Work collaboratively with Project Managers and Engineers to resolve construction issues.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and ensure works meet quality and contractual requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and site stakeholders.
  • Lead pre-starts, toolbox meetings and site safety activities.
  • Drive strong WHSEQ performance and a positive safety culture.
  • Mentor, motivate and support site personnel and subcontractors.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong experience in a Site Manager, Civil Supervisor, Senior Supervisor or similar construction leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering civil and/or concrete construction works.
  • Strong practical knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing and constructability.
  • Experience coordinating crews, subcontractors, plant and materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple work fronts and changing site priorities.
  • Strong understanding of project programming and scheduling.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
  • Strong WHS, environmental and quality focus.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to identify delays, variations and project risks.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Good client and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions on site.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • Construction White Card.
  • Relevant trade or construction qualification.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Strong experience across structural concrete and civil construction.
  • Experience with foundations, slabs, footings, pits, structures or other concrete works.
  • Bulk earthworks, drainage or underground services experience.
  • Experience coordinating formwork, reinforcement and concrete subcontractors.
  • Experience delivering works within industrial, resources, Water, Defence or Energy environments.
  • Experience working within live or operational sites.
  • Strong construction scheduling and planning capability.
  • Experience using Procore, Aconex, InEight or similar project management systems.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Ability to obtain relevant Defence or project clearances where required.
