About the Role
Reporting to the HR Manager, you'll provide practical, hands-on HR support to leaders across the business. You'll coach managers through every stage of performance and conduct, from early informal conversations to formal processes, additionally, advising and leading employee relations matters from investigation through to resolution. You'll also help deliver our employee survey cycle and facilitate workshops that build leadership capability. While the HR Manager sets the strategic direction, we're looking for someone who is keen to take it and drive it forward.
This is a role for someone who wants to open doors, build trusted relationships and influence. You'll join at an exciting time, with the chance to shape and grow an evolving HR function and make your mark from day one.
What You'll Do
- Support the employee survey cycle, including promoting participation, reviewing results and running results workshops with leaders
- Deliver leader learning sessions and workshops that build people management capability across the business
- Get out and about, building trusted relationships with internal customers and driving the use of HR services through face-to-face conversations
- Coach and guide leaders on managing performance and conduct, from setting expectations and informal conversations through to formal performance management
- Advise, support and lead employee relations matters, including gathering data and witness statements, guiding next steps in investigations and leading response meetings through to warnings or terminations
- Manage industrial claims and advise on probation terminations
What You'll Bring
- Tertiary qualification in HR, Psychology or related discipline (highly desirable)
- Strong experience in a generalist HR role, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Sound knowledge of HR best practices and employment legislation
- Experience supporting workplace investigations and disciplinary processes and applying procedural fairness
- Proven ability to coach leaders to strengthen their people management skills, particularly in performance and conduct
- Confidence facilitating workshops and training, and running programs such as employee surveys
- Strong relationship-building skills, sound judgement and discretion with confidential matters, and the resilience to perform under pressure and ambiguity
What Will Set You Apart
- Experience in construction or a similarly operational, site-based environment (an advantage, not a must-have)
- A seasoned, steady approach and the judgement to handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion
- A genuine passion for delivering workshops and training and for leading projects once the strategy is set
- An approachable, relaxed manner and a real understanding of the customer, with a "less email, more conversation" mindset

- Long-term career development and training opportunities
- Strong commitment to safety, wellbeing and inclusion
- Supportive, family-oriented and values-driven culture
