McMahon Services is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our Civil & Infrastructure team.

About the Role

This role sits within a high-performing pre-contracts function and is responsible for leading the preparation of detailed, first-principles estimates across a diverse portfolio of civil and infrastructure projects.

You will collaborate closely with bid teams, delivery personnel and senior stakeholders to develop innovative construction methodologies, identify commercial opportunities and position tenders for success.

What You’ll Do

• Develop detailed first principles estimates across complex civil/infrastructure projects
• Analyse tender documentation and develop competitive pricing strategies
• Lead subcontractor and supplier engagement, including RFQ processes and commercial analysis
• Contribute to bid strategy, methodology development and value engineering initiatives
• Identify risks, opportunities and cost drivers to optimise tender outcomes
• Support governance reviews and provide commercial input into go/no-go decisions
• Mentor and guide estimators and graduate estimators
• Support effective handover to delivery teams, ensuring clarity of assumptions

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience estimating civil or infrastructure projects
• Strong experience in first principles estimating and complex tender environments
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to winning tender strategies
• Strong commercial acumen, including risk identification and cost optimisation
• Experience working across multidisciplinary projects and delivery teams
• Proficiency in estimating systems (e.g. CostX, Benchmark or similar)
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
