As a Senior Project Engineer – Water Infrastructure, you will play a critical role on one of South Australia’s most significant and high-impact infrastructure projects, delivering major utilities and water infrastructure works. Working across complex construction environments, you will drive project delivery outcomes through technical leadership, coordination, and hands-on delivery while contributing to the transformation of Adelaide’s transport network.

About the Role
Reporting to the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of complex civil utilities and water infrastructure works across major project packages. This role will see you coordinating construction activities, subcontractors, commissioning works, and project interfaces while driving strong safety, quality, commercial, and program outcomes.
Based in Adelaide, you will work across both office and site environments, providing technical leadership and hands-on project delivery support within a fast-paced major infrastructure setting.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the delivery of utilities and water infrastructure works across major project packages
- Coordinate self-perform crew, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve safe and efficient project outcomes
- Manage project activities including procurement, scheduling, cost control, and contract administration
- Oversee water main installation, commissioning, pressure testing, and live main connection works
- Provide technical guidance to site teams and ensure compliance with project, safety, and quality requirements
- Prepare and manage project documentation including RFIs, reports, variations, and progress claims
- Build strong working relationships with clients, utility authorities, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
- Contribute to planning, problem-solving, and continuous improvement across project delivery
What You’ll Bring:
- Extensive experience delivering water utilities packages on major infrastructure projects
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience in project coordination, procurement, scheduling, cost control, and contract administration
- Proficiency in project delivery systems such as InEight, Aconex, Procore, or similar
- Experience in MSCL (Mild Steel Cement Lined) fabrication, welding, and installation
- Experience in DICL (Ductile Iron Cement Lined) and PVC pipeline installation
- Knowledge of water main commissioning, live main connections, pressure testing, and disinfection procedures
- Ability to self-perform and manage plant and labour crews on trunk water main projects
- Knowledge of trench excavation, shoring, and reinstatement requirements to relevant standards
- Current White Card, Driver’s Licence, and ability to obtain required clearances
