About the Role

In this role you will lead a diverse portfolio of complex, high-value decommissioning and demolition projects, while contributing to the growth of our project delivery capability. You'll provide strategic and operational leadership across project delivery, commercial performance, customer relationships, risk and people, with direct oversight of Project Managers and Engineers. What sets this role apart is the breadth and complexity of the projects which involve the management of multiple different trade disciplines as part of a decommissioning and demolition process that is tailored for each site and customer. This role requires strong technical thinking, commercial judgement and problem-solving across multiple disciplines. As part of the senior leadership team, you'll have the opportunity to influence strategy, engage directly with customers, contribute to bids and develop future project leaders.

What You Will Do:

• Manage a portfolio of self-delivered decommissioning and remediation projects (up to $20M annual revenue) to ensure delivery on time, on budget and to required safety and quality standards.
  
  
• Take on the legacy of decades-old infrastructure and turn it into opportunity - unlocking sites for what comes next.
  
  
• Collaborate with the Tendering, Commercial, Safety and Operations teams to secure and deliver "best for business" outcomes across new and existing projects.
  
  
• Implement and maintain robust risk management, financial reporting and project governance systems for continuous improvement across a team of up to 50 people.
  
  
• Lead with our RISE values at the forefront of every decision, fostering a safe, respectful and high-performing culture across your project teams.
• Conduct monthly project reviews and provide clear, accurate reporting to the General Manager and senior stakeholders.
  
  
• Work predominantly across Adelaide-based projects, with opportunities for interstate and regional travel as the portfolio requires.
  
  

What You Will Bring:

• Proven experience managing large-scale, self-delivered construction or infrastructure projects within the civil, industrial or environmental services sector.
• Strong understanding of contract administration, WHS legislation and Australian Standards relevant to complex, high-risk construction environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage relationships at all levels - from site teams to executive customers.
• Ability to manage multiple, competing project priorities and lead cross-disciplined teams in a fast-paced, high-risk environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
• Ability to obtain defence clearance i.e. Must be an Australian Citizen

What Will Set You Apart: 

• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor project managers, engineers and graduates as part of a growing, high-performing team.
• Experience with project and ERP systems such as MS Project, Primavera, Pronto, SAP or Aconex.
• Proven track record delivering demolition, decommissioning or complex infrastructure projects across diverse environments (power stations, hospitals, marine or industrial sites).
• You don't need to tick every box on paper - a strong background in contract administration, with the commercial acumen to match, is just as valuable as direct project management experience.
• Leadership experience and the ability to influence business strategy as part of a senior management team.
