McMahon Services is seeking experienced Civil Pipelayers and Multi Skilled Plant Operators to join our Civil & Infrastructure team, supporting the delivery of major civil infrastructure and a range of civil construction projects across South Australia.

Multi Skilled Plant Operators

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will operate a range of plant on civil construction sites, contributing to high-quality project delivery while adhering to WHSEQ requirements. This role may involve regional work, with allowances provided.

This role suits safety-focused, adaptable operators confident across multiple plant types in fast-paced environments.

What You’ll Do

• Operate plant including excavators, graders, loaders, rollers and haul trucks
• Support civil construction activities including bulk and detailed earthworks
• Work collaboratively with site teams to meet program and quality requirements
• Maintain plant in a safe, clean and serviceable condition

What You’ll Bring

• Ideally 3-5 years’ experience as a ticketed Plant Operator
• Competencies across multiple plant types (excavator, grader, loader, roller, haul truck)
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions
• Experience using GPS machine control systems (desirable)
• Experience in road construction and bulk/detailed excavation works (desirable)

Civil Pipelayers

You’ll work on trunk water, sewer and stormwater pipelines across major road and infrastructure projects, contributing to safe and accurate installation of underground services.

You will install underground services and associated civil works, working closely with site teams to deliver works safely, accurately and to specification.

What You’ll Do

• Perform pipelaying, trenching and associated civil works
• Read and interpret plans, drawings and levels
• Install water, sewer and stormwater pipelines
• Use laser levels and GPS to achieve accurate installation

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience in civil and utilities pipelaying
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans
• Experience working around live services and trenching works
• Experience on major civil or road infrastructure projects (desirable)
• Experience installing water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure (desirable)

Across both roles, you will need to hold a current driver’s licence and Construction White Card, with a strong work ethic, team focus, and commitment to safety and quality. Willingness to work regionally and additional certifications (e.g. Senior First Aid, Dogman or other civil tickets) will be highly regarded.

You will work in accordance with WHS, environmental and quality standards and requirements at all times. You will also support general site operations by completing labouring tasks, using hand and power tools, and assisting plant operations as required.
